Echoes of Excellence is an Ohio-based competition where local high school marching bands will meet and compete against one another. We had the privilege of supporting the first competition of 6 local schools for the 2024 – 2025 school year by making it easy for anyone to purchase tickets whether they wanted to do it ahead of time or in person. We also got the chance to run our ticket scanning app through another round of battle testing and it came out a huge success! By the end of the event, over 1000 tickets had been sold and we were able to provide a seamless experience admitting attendees to the event.
How we supported Echoes of Excellence
To prepare for the event, we knew that it would be important for users to have the ability to quickly purchase tickets and get scanned into the event so that they could skip the line of other attendees purchasing tickets the day of the event. With that in mind, we dispersed QR codes ahead of the event to purchase tickets and we also clearly displayed QR codes at the event if people wanted to purchase tickets directly from their device rather than waiting in line to reach the booth where they could pay with cash or card.
Once attendees purchased tickets, we then also used our ticket scanning app to quickly scan attendees into the event, look up tickets if attendees left their tickets at home, or supported manual ticket assignment or the purchase of additional tickets/
The weekend of the event
We attended the event and were there training ticket scanners, selling additional tickets, and monitoring to make sure everything ran smoothly. Overall, the event was a success and our ticket system and ticket scanning app were able to successfully support all attendees and move everyone through the entrance line quickly.

Let’s wrap it up
After a quick trip to Ohio to support the event, we were able to confirm that we can successfully support in-person events for schools and we’re looking forward to supporting football games, competitions, game nights, and theater events for schools in the area.
